PLEASE HELP

Hello! I found this Box at an antique store while I was on vacation in Hot Springs Arkansas. On the bottom it says "rehearsal of ballet on the stage Degas (1834-1917). Only problem is that it's missing the top. I'm curious what it was used for and about how much if anything , it's worth. Thanks in advance for your help! Carrie Thornton

Hi Carrie, Your Mystery Golden Box looks to be what is left from a Music Box: `Rehearsal of Ballet on the Stage` Degas ( 1834-1917) Song `Moonlight Sonata`. Top of box is a picture of a ballet. One sold for $35 in 2007 but it was in great shape with no missing parts. I don't know what you paid for it but you probably paid too much. Sorry I couldn't give you better news. Thanks,
