PLEASE HELP

Dark bay with black mane and tail, Blazon 71 stamped on belly. I cannot find a single little piece of information about carousel Blazon horses, only Blazon rocking horses. The base is brass and marble, clawfeet, very intricate details. 4' tall and about 4' long. realistic muscles, heavy duty plastic. The base appears to have either been a lamp or was made so could be a lamp, I'm guessing, but there's a hole for the cord. Please, Please, Please help me determine value! I'm at my wits end with this one but similar sized wood horses go for around 1k. I can't find any information, I'm begging for help, Please!!! Thank you! *** new discoveries! It was originally a rocking horse!!! It was custom made for my mother in law many years ago. So how do I determine value of something like this? I know that the base has a value of $200-$250 and Blazon rocking horses are around $300. Apparently she had 3 made and nobody in the family knows what happened to the other two. So it's rare, custom made, only a few made. Value??? :-) thank you!

Hi Jennifer,

You might want to contact someone who specializes in carousel horses, like the folks at:

http://antiquecarousels.com/

They have a bunch of carousel horses for sale and they range in value from $1,700 to $50,000 dollars!  That's a big range and I think your horse would be valued on the lower end, but they're are the experts!
