PLEASE HELP

I bought this inkwell from a man who bought it in France on his travels. I thought it was pretty but I think it has its top knob missing from the lid and does not seem to have any ceramic pot for the ink, not sure if it would have had one. I would just like to know what age it would be and era and a little bit more about it. It has aged to quite a turquoise patina and I presume it is brass not bronze as it is more golden than brown. Its size is 7 inches wide by six inches and the top of the pot is at about 2 1/2 inches high. I have not seen one with four quill rests before. It has a hinged lid and the pot is removable from the stand. There are some marks on the bottom but I cant find any list that says when, where or who made it. It has the number 2736 and under that it looks like a P in a D. Toying with the idea of cleaning it but at the moment I quite like the verdigris patina. Any info would be useful thank you.
